Mandrake Memorial - Puzzle (1969 US Psychedelic Rock)

TERCEIRO, ULTIMO E MORTAL ALBUM DESTA EXCELENTE BANDA AMERICANA ONDE O SOM CONTINUA MORTAL E O ORGAN SEGUE PASSEANDO MAGISTRALMENTE NA COZINHA!! OS OUTROS DOIS JÁ FORAM POSTADOS ANTERIORMENTE!! UM VERDADEIRO TRIUNVIRATO DE OURO DE PRESENTE AOS ENVENENADOS!! NÃO CONSUMAM COM MODERAÇÃO!! AQUI OS VENENOS NÃO TEM CONTRA-INDICAÇÕES!! The third and final offering from this Philadelphia act arrived in 1969 after a false start in its recording. Earlier acoustic sessions were ditched in favour of orchestrally backed mood-pieces and ballads. The gentle vocals of Randy Monaco, washes of warping synths and drifting guitar textures provide a floating and dreamy feel to this album. The standout tracks being "Earthfriend" and the recurring "Just A Blur". To experience a serene psychedelic soundscape that defies comparison I don't think you can do better than "Puzzle". As an added bonus the album is dressed in a stunning Escher cover 01 Earthfriend Prelude 02 Earthfr...

Mandrake Memorial – Medium (1969 US Psychedelic Rock)

SEGUE O SEGUNDO E MORTAL ALBUM DESTA EXCELENTE BANDA AMERICANA!! ROCK PSICODÉLICO FEITO COM UMA HARMONIA IMPRESSIONANTE!! MAIS UM ALBUM RARÍSSIMO DOS CARAS!! Excellent second album, that gets more psychedelic. Long weird explorations featuring fuzzed guitar and modular phasing, various keyboards and the highly individual vocals of Randy Monaco. A great album... Mandrake Memorial's sound didn't change that much between their first and second album, but Medium is definitely a letdown after their fine self-titled debut. Although it retained the solemn vocals and classical-tinged electronic keyboards, as well as some jazz and Indian influences, there was a drift toward a harder rock sound and longer, more meandering songs. It's the compositions that drag the record down the most, as they aren't nearly as tuneful or concise as those on their first release. Too, while much of the material on the first album had a buoyant, soaring quality, there was a bit of a somber, bummed-...

Mandrake Memorial - Mandrake Memorial (1968 US Psychedelic Prog Rock)

PRIMEIRO E RARO ALBUM DESTA EXCELENTE BANDA AMERICANA QUE FAZIA UM ROCK PSICODÉLICO DE PRIMEIRA LINHA COM UMA "COZINHA" MANDANDO UM A HARMONIA PERFEITA ENTRE GUITAR, TECLADOS E OCASINALMENTE USANDO ATÉ UMA SÍTARA PRA ARREMATAR!! UM ÓTIMO E RARO VENENO DIFÍCIL DE ENCONTRAR NO MERCADO!! EFEITO GARANTIDO!! NA SEQUENCIA SEGUE OS OUTROS DOIS ALBUNS DA BANDA!! By far their best album, this suite-like collection features some haunting, first-rate songs, such as "Bird Journey," "Here I Am, " and "Dark Lady." With their harmonies and interplay between guitar, electric keyboards, and occasional sitar, they were very much a band of their age, but played with a drive and precision that anticipated progressive rock. Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide Craig Anderton: Guitar, Sitar Michael Kac: Keyboards, Vocals Kevin Lally: Drums Randy Monaco: Bass, Vocals 01 Bird Journey - Mandrake Memorial - 2:49 02 Here I Am - Mandrake Memorial - 2:26 03 Rainy May - Mandr...
