Um precursor dessa banda foi formada em Copenhague no início de 1964, mas sua forte orientação para o blues-rock começou apenas com a chegada de Peter Thorup em 1966. Em 1967, o The Beefeaters tocou como banda de apoio para Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall e Pink Floyd durante seus shows na Dinamarca. Ambos os álbuns foram excelentes esforços "reais" do blues-rock para acompanhar os álbuns de John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac e Cuby & The Blizzards.
O primeiro álbum foi, junto com Steppeulvene, o álbum dinamarquês mais importante de 1967. Os Beefeaters também não eram puristas do blues, eles também exibiam influências psicodélicasd, beat e soul music. O som (muito bem desenvolvido para 1967) foi amplamente baseado nos talentos de Thorup como vocalista e guitarrista, mas o órgão Farfisa de Kjærumsgård (às vezes substituído por piano) obviamente aumentou o som do grupo. O Burnin 'Red Ivanhoe foi um dos muitos grupos que mais tarde copiou esse som distinto de órgão.

Danmarks 60's legends BEEFEATERS with their Denmark Radio recordings from '67 to '68. The title is "Troels' Vanvittige Parkering" (=The Crazy (car-) Park of Troels). The recordings have been done by Denmarks Radio in Frederikshavn and probably in Islev Cinema during 67-68. Denmark Radio doesn't not have the mastertapes, so some old casettetapes were cleaned up. This is BEEFEATERS with long and short takes, full of soul.

In 1967, The Beefeaters played as support band for Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and Pink Floyd during their concerts in Denmark. Both albums were top-notch "real" blues-rock efforts to file along albums by John Mayall, early Fleetwood Mac and even Cuby & The Blizzards. The first album was, along with Steppeulvene, the most important Danish album of 1967. The Beefeaters weren't entirely blues purists either, they also displayed beat and soul influences. The sound (very well developed for 1967) was largely based on Thorup's talents as vocalist and guitarist, but Kjærumsgård's Farfisa organ (sometimes replaced by piano) obviously augmented the group’s sound. Burnin' Red Ivanhoe was one of many groups who later copied this distinctive organ sound.

Beefeaters usually used the car the lightning engineer Troels Lund for driving to gigs. Troels didn't like to drive himself so the driving was managed by Keith, Peter or Søren, the other lightning engineer. But he couldn't avoid parking the car, when the gear was unloaded. He was ill reputed for the often weird ways he managed to park the car. So ill reputed that the band dedicated the song "Troels Vanvittige Parkering" (The Insane Parking Of Troels) to him.
